Volunteer Police Information Check

formerly called a Criminal Record Check

All volunteers must now complete a Police Information Check in order to volunteer at Gordon Greenwood Elementary. Volunteer activities include things such as volunteering for hot lunch, helping out at PAC events or for fundraising activities at the school.

Police Information Checks are free and once secured, are valid for five years.

Here are the steps to obtain your Police Information Check:

One: Present two pieces of ID at the GGE office (one of the pieces of ID needs to be a government issued photo ID – ie. drivers license or passport). You will receive a letter and online password from the office.

Two: The letter is a form letter requesting a Police Information Check on your behalf. Please take this letter to the local RCMP detachment or RCMP Community Policing Office, along with your two pieces of ID. Your Police Information Check can often be done on the same day, and sometimes even within 10-15 minutes.

Three: Visit this link and enter your password (obtained from the office in step one). You will then be prompted to watch a training video and complete the online Volunteer Safety Check Application Form (it's quick - just a few questions).

Four: Please ensure that the results are brought back or sent to the GGE office. A PIC/CRC “clearance” must be given to the district BEFORE you can begin to volunteer at the school.

Thank you!
