Volunteer Police Information Check

formerly called a Criminal Record Check

All volunteers must now complete a Police Information Check in order to volunteer at Gordon Greenwood Elementary. Volunteer activities include things such as volunteering for hot lunch, helping out at PAC events or for fundraising activities at the school.

Police Information Checks are free and once secured, are valid for five years.

Here are the steps to obtain your Police Information Check:

Step 1: Complete the Volunteer Safety Check

Fill out the Volunteer Safety Check Application Form.

Step 2: Get Your Police Information Check (PIC)

The Langley School District requires all volunteers to have a valid Police Information Check (formerly called a Criminal Record Check).
You can choose one of two options:

Option A: In-person at an RCMP Detachment (faster)

  • Bring a “volunteer letter” from the school (obtain this from the front office)

  • Go to your nearest RCMP Detachment or Community Policing Office.

  • Checks can often be completed the same day — sometimes in just 10–15 minutes.

Option B: Apply Online (slower)

  • Use the online link and access code below:
    Apply Online: here
    Access Code: 43TC8K8JGK

  • Show two pieces of government-issued ID to your school administrator.

  • Please note: processing may take 3–4 weeks before the school receives your results.

Step 3: Submit Your Results

Make sure your completed PIC/CRC results are brought or sent to the school where you’ll be volunteering.
Clearance must be received by the District before you begin any volunteer work.
